The small village of Castelfranco d'Oglio, with a population less than 100 people, is located in the "Parco dell'Oglio Sud". The river Oglio, along the stretch before flowing into the Po river, divides the two provinces of Mantua and Cremona. Castelfranco is on the cremonese side. The park is distinguished by a landscape in which cultinvated fields are alternated with long rows of poplars, garden plants and wet alluvial valleys with lots plant and animal aquatic species. It is also crossed by the ciclovia dell'Oglio, a 280-kilometre long cycle path, that is perfect for a walk on foot or by bike or horse. Just a few kilometers away are some interesting tourist destinations such as: Cremona (32 km), Brescia (53 km), Parma (46 km) and, above all, Mantua (39 km) that, together with the near town of Sabbioneta (26 km), is a Unesco world heritage site. In the area there are many restaurants and traditional trattorias, where you can taste local dishes. The Cremona circuit is just 13 km.
